Managing The Creative Mindset

Event Description

A two-day hands-on course in NeuroCreativity tools and techniques

“To thrive in today’s innovation-driven economy, workers need [...] competencies like collaboration, creativity and problem-solving...” - World Economic Forum

It is now well-recognised that creativity is essential for organisations to compete, thrive and grow in the 21st century. In an increasingly automated world, the ability to creatively solve complex problems and think out of the box will be key skills for people to excel in the future.

Course Background
The Managing the Creative Mindset is the successor to CINC's recognized Applied NeuroCreativity Course. It is firmly rooted in the neuroscience of creativity, a field pioneered by CINC researchers, and enhances individual problem-solving skills and creative awareness.

In the competitive worlds of both business and love, the worst thing a company or individual can be is formulaic and predictable. As humans we form habits - shortcuts - to solve problems faster. This saves brain power BUT we risk applying the same old solutions to unprecedented challenges that require a fresh perspective. The Managing the Creative Mindset Course helps you unlearn and replace rusty thought patterns with new creative ones so you can find and benefit from new opportunities, at work and in your personal life.

Course Description
Participants are introduced to the underlying mechanisms of creative problem-solving including divergent and convergent thinking, constraints and metacognition. Through mini-lectures, hands-on exercises, discussions and group work participants develop their creative awareness and their ability to recognise and respond to creative barriers and enablers in oneself and others.
More info about Creative Awarenes and the Metacognitive aspect of creativity can be found on our blog.
